TIME OUT!!!!!!!!!: SHE'S SINGLE?

TIME OUT, this is foul!REALLY! Obviously people are losing their damn minds....I just watched the new Raheem DeVaughn video called "She's Single"....not only is the video explicit, but the lyrics too....my man is good with the lyrics, but why make a video out of this song lyrics....ayo ayo, like what was happening in the video was gravy, but I swear I can find that same flick in a porn shop somewhere.....there comes a time when we must compose ourselves....whatever happens between you and a "taken" girl is yo' business, but when it hits the net, that shit becomes my business.

And man, I was excited to hear the song and see the video, because I thought it was about a girl that he was feeling who was in a relationship and now she is single and it was on and poppin', but man that was me just imagining again....lol.

Raheem, sweetie, call me anytime...lol, cause you straight up looked like a male gigolo in that video.....SERVING!..lol

Soul Music

Lalah Hathaway has one of the most amazing tenor voices I have heard from a female artist in a long time, other than Anita Baker (SN:great tribute for her on the Soul Train music awards)....some background information, Lalah Hathaway's father is THE Donny Hathaway, yes, she is Donny Hathaway's daughter. Her father sung with so much emotion....if you ever listen to one of his records, the needle of the record player captures the pain in each groove creating a sound of truth and conviction.

Eric Roberson is another artist who never receives credit for his work thus far. Great vocalist and entertainer. On another note, this video is pretty funny, he gets popped in the face by Lalah's "old dude" (boyfriend)...lol, homeboy left the party with a black eye..what a night. But one question, why didn't they end up together at the end? If I got popped in the eye, I would have definitely left that party with what I got popped for, correct?!...lol, wildin!

Rant: Facebook...social networking?

I've been off of Facebook now for 21 days in counting (maybe permanently). So far I have:

-  Start learning Russian
- Volunteered
- finished a book that I've been reading for 6 months now!

and etc. Now if I was still connected to Facebook, I don't think this would've happened. Facebook LITERALLY consumed my life. Checking on people's status updates, photo updates, and accepting friends' requests from people whom I did not know. Friends who have my contact information (ie. phone number/email address) can connect me that way, and long lost friends, are long lost friends for a reason. Life is about meeting NEW people...now people or companies who are using Facebook as a networking site, are using it the correct way....capitalism....you got to love it (NOT, check out Capitalism, A Love Story).

Let's switch gears....social sites like Blogspot.com, Youtube.com, and Myspace.com are similar, yes, but on those sites you can do the following:

 - Blogspot: you express your thoughts (which is productive/therapeutic in a way)
 - Youtube: you have the option to help others through live demonstration or document different events in your life.
 - Myspace: you can share your music and become friends with your favorite artists and be informed about upcoming shows in your area.

But on Facebook, you just look at pictures, play useless games, and add strangers as your friends. There is some networking, but very little. Not to mention the ignorant/random comments or status updates people (i.e. your "friends") post. Future on Facebook looks like a negative, like 70%.........

Action: Thanksgiving Day

What I've been up to lately......

Went to the "infamous" Record/CD show the 21st of November......me using INFAMOUS is hilarious, in my world, it's infamous. I thought it only happened twice in the Fall, but it happens twice also in Spring and Summer.

WOW...random I know...just heard the best quote...I'm watching this documentary called "The Black List" and Keenen Wayans is telling a story about how he told his father that he wanted to quit college (while pursuing an engineering degree), and become a stand up comedian....and his father says..." you should finish college so that you can have something to fall back on" and Keenen says " dad , I understand what you are telling me, but if I have that cushion to fall back on, then I will fall, but if I have the hard concrete floor to fall back on , then I will do everything in my power not to fall"...strong statement. GO HARD OR GO HOME!!!!!!

To continue on my lovely Sunday.....I stopped by my favorite Indian shop and picked up some henna, spices, and of course my favorite pistachio ice cream (pictured)......and dun dun dun da dun....went to my favorite roti shop again. I've included in this post, pictures of my records. Also, forgot to post this picture of some yummy black mushroom rice from Thanksgiving dinner.

The sound of this record is really electrifying!

You don't know the blues if you haven't heard Jimmy Reed.....and oh JAMES BROWN record is amazing!

Stay INFORMED and POSITIVE people....there is soooo much knowledge to gain, you have no idea....*muah*
