Your blogs are like vitamins for the brain: My grandmother was like a Macgyver, whereas Macgyver could diffuse an atomic bomb with a paperclip and a rubber band, My grandmother on my fathers side taught me how to clean windows with vinegar and water, and dry them with old newspaper. How to soak your beans(pinto, great northern etc)in water and a few table spoons of baking soda, over night, before cooking. No flatulence(a sure buzz kill for gas) and it works ! Coolest tho was when I was a teen I use to put my bottles of root beer in the freezer, just to get them slushy. I recall one time I left one in the freezer to long. It was frozen solid. I sat it on the table thinking I would have to wait for it to thaw out. My grandmother put hand around the neck of bottle and held it, within seconds it started to thaw, from the warmth of her hand ! Now that was magic mixed love. My grandma macgyver!
@nobby...OMG!!!! I use all of those tricks....especially soaking your beans overnight in water and baking soda... I love beans (really the only source of protein I get), so I use that trick alot. Currently I am obsessed with glass jars...I use them for holding my paint brushes, make up, loose change, candy, and alot more, so thats a little Macgyver, right?!....lol, but anywho, I came up with this statement, because I got another impossible task from my boss and I completed it with no problem..lol. Your grandma receives a straigt 10 in my book!
