Tomorrow, I will definitely be frying fish. Sipping on some Barbancourt rum (Haitian rum) and thinking about traveling.......February, yeah February, I don't care what's going on, but I am traveling international by myself, choices are below:
#1. Grenada
#2. Trinidad and Tobago
#3. Jamaica
#4. Barbados
Hmmmm, it is going to be nice. Going to solidify (buy the damn plane ticket) the plans in November. I love my SINGLE FREE LIFE!!!!!!!!

Before becoming a vegetarian, I only ate fish,turkey and chicken breast. The amount of mercury in fish was a big influence, on me becoming vegetarian. Back in the day, I cook a mean piece of black bass, in corn meal. My grandmother taught me. The fish we had left over from friday nights, was served with grits and biscuts, for saturday morning breakfast.
I applaud your independence, I have been to Jamaica, for spring break when I was a junior in college. I had some "hot" jerk-chicken, that numbed my tongue and made me break out in a sweat, but it was good, because I was in munchie mode at the time. It would be cool if you would have a traveling companion though.
An experience by myself will be more authentic, you know, I don't want to travel along a path others traveled...I want to create my own. I was also looking into Costa Rica, I have a friend that lives there. Don't know, but will decide in November.
Safety 1st, even my students, say I sound like their parents, on certain issues.
This blog is a catch-22 for me.
On a personal note I find that get up and go attitude, so attractive.
But I guess, my age and experience, has to say "be careful" as I know you will.

Thanks for the advice. I've been holding off for so long to travel international that I am in that state of mind to travel alone. I have planned trips with other people and it always falls through. So now that I am traveling by myself, me depending on others is not an option, if I mention the trip to friends and they decide to go then that's great, but its on the basis of them coming on a trip I planned by myself....and you don't sound a like parent, just someone who is offering very good advice. Thanks again!!
